My husband and I stayed at the Golden Apple for 10 days, and in my opinion, it was not suitable for foreigners. All of the staff look unhappy and never greet you as if they hate their jobs and as if you don't exist. I was quite surprised by this behaviour considering it's an African country.
When we ordered food on their wide variety menu, they seldom had anything on the menu besides white rice. The room was pretty basic and each morning we would wake up to so much noise as if someone was drilling something.
When we asked for the wifi password, the owner asked for our phones so that he could put it in as if we wouldn't see the password....lol. When it was almost time to leave, he asked when we were leaving and we said we were leaving the next day and within an hour or two, we had no internet!!! When my husband tried calling him about it, he was hung up on! Such complete disrespect and unprofessional behaviour!!!! Elvis is all about the money for sure.
We couldn't wait to leave to go to a much better hotel. This "guesthouse" is geared to the locals who they can treat like garbage and shut off the internet whenever they please. Foreigners need internet as it is the only means of communication, especially when you have children at home.
The best thing about the place was leaving! Ain't nothing "golden" about it. I can say a lot more, but I will leave it at that. Highly appalling and dissatisfied!

I'm not sure what your reason behind mentioning that my husband is a Nigerian was for. That is completely irrelevant! You should focus on training your staff so they can learn a thing or two about hospitality and good customer service....something that is surely lacking!
Elvis specifically said that he doesn't give out passwords, hence the reason why he took our phones to input it. I understood him clearly!!! My husband had to buy food outside because your "Rotten Apple" establishment didn't seem to have any food, or they were just too lazy to make it when they were busy sleeping on the floor on their phones. I wouldn't mind eating the food there if it were available!
Thanks for the tip with the sim card, however I chose not to purchase one. I am a frequent traveller and didn't see a need to purchase a sim.

I had a very bad experience when I visited this place today. Leaving to the office this morning, I enquired if there will be another room available in the afternoon cos I needed 2 room from the beginning. The receptionist agreed that I can pay for both rooms when I return. To my surprise, upon returning I realised the ‘manager’ has moved my things by himself without my knowledge to another room with no apparent reason than to say my room was booked by someone last week and he can’t continue to rent it out.

Goodness! This hotel is everything.: affordable yet a quality service. Travelling with an infant is a big job but the hotel made me really comfortable. The service is top notch. I love the staffs, the environment is serene and neat, the manager is a nice man. Everyone keeps welcoming me with a smile. Security is on point. I will definitely recommend. Thank you for making my stay a nice one.

Good sized rooms, no hot water. Limited channels. Limited menu. Location has a large school close by and is in an alley way which is blocked at one end. Elvis is accommodating to the best of his ability in achieving customer satisfaction. He is 5 star!
